Consilience is a fascinating journal where submissions of art and poetry are peer-reviewed by scientists. The editorial process reconnects the arts and sciences, strengthening our ability to share information and communicate across disciplinary boundaries. This was a core aim of Meet Us and Eat Us and it was a good challenge to write about an insect rather than a plant. I learned a lot about midges, and loved reading the whole Insects issue on publication.
